A personal development plan (PDP) is used by many professional and business in order to enhance effectiveness of current and long term goals. It allows and individual to asses their current abilities and development, subsequently being able to know how to develop on or learn new skills.
Zimmerman (2011) invented a model of self-reflection clearly demonstrates how understanding our strengths and weaknesses can provide a foundation that, in turn, outlines what we need to improve on and how the improvements can be made.

Goals/Timeline
• To complete my masters degree here at Writtle University College, finishing with at least a 2:1.
• To continue to do short courses as I progress in my career, such as becoming a qualified farrier or instructor.
• To firstly work for a physiotherapist before creating my own business.
• Be able to set up a place for my business and acquire a hydrotherapy treadmill and laser equipment, this will be extremely expensive however it is a goal of mine.
• To also employ other physiotherapists, hydrotherapists and possibly chiropractors to help expand my business.
• To be able to use my techniques at home and improve my own horses wellbeing and performance, to feel and observe the benefits would be incredibly rewarding as well as giving me confidence that my techniques are correct.
