My name is Amelia Sutcliffe and I am currently a student at Writtle University College in Chelmsford, working towards an Integrated Masters Degree in Veterinary Physiotherapy.
My journey started with my great interest in horses at a young age. Before even riding a horse I started to help out on the weekends at my local riding school, little did I know I would be there for the next 8 years of my life. As I grew in confidence and competence I began to compete and teach in my teenage years as the ‘helping out’ became a paid job. I have also had my fair share of riding and handling many different types of temperaments, breeds and abilities of horses.
My university application required me to have a specific amount of canine handling experience, I therefore decided to get some work experience at my local kennels and cattery. After a weeks work experience I was offered a part time job. I have been working there since July ’18 and have also been fortunate enough to work in their canine hydrotherapy centre with the underwater treadmill.
